Hi! And welcome to our family. Get yourself comfortable and join me as I tell you a little about our story. There are so many delicious dishes inspired by our culture rich upbringings. We wanted to share our favorite one with you. Pasteles [pas’teles] is a plantain and root vegetables masa (dough) filled and made into a pocket using plantain leaves. The masa, or the dough, is typically made of grated green banana, green plantain, and calabazas. Fillings can range from vegetables, poultry, fish and game meat. Because they are so time consuming and labor-intensive families often make dozens at a time, especially during the holiday season. As a child I enjoyed pasteles made by my family around the holidays.

After becoming a vegan I modified the traditional pastel to accommodate my new lifestyle. Many trial an error moments brought us to achieve the perfect consistency and flavor. Within a short amount of time this became a go to dish in our home. We shared some with friends and family, most of them non vegans. They were a hit! Today, I share them with you. We are a family owned and operated company.

Each pastel from beginning to end is made with love by family. Planteles [plant’eles] are made by hand with simple ingredients sourced from local markets. We’ve done all the peeling, grating, stuffing and wrapping for you. Keeping the integrity of this delicious staple.
